Yes, trademarks may be transferred (including usufruct) or mortgaged, both inside and outside Libya.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
\nWhy register a Trademark?<\/h3>\n\n
Registration gives you exclusive ownership of a trademark within Libya, including:<\/p>\n
\n- the right to benefit from products and services for which the brand was registered;<\/li>\n
- and the right to take all measures to protect the trademark.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
The Trademark Office handles the registration of trademarks in Libya. Libya has adopted the classification of goods and services provided in the Nice Agreement for the purpose of trademark registration.<\/p>\n
Please note that no protection is given in Libya for trademarks related to alcoholic beverages (specified in Classes 32 \u2013 33) and pork products (defined in Class 29).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

\n- your Trade Licence\/Commercial Registration Certificate (for corporate entities) or National Identity Card\/Passport (for physical persons);*<\/li>\n
- a Power of Attorney authorising us to act on your behalf;*<\/li>\n
- the trademark and logo (translated into Arabic); and<\/li>\n
- any related documentation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
* These documents must be legalised by the Libyan Consulate in your country.<\/p>\n
A rejected application can be appealed to a select committee appointed for this purpose within thirty days of the date of receiving the official notification of rejection.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

We charge a fixed fee per trademark registration of \u20ac300.*<\/p>\n

- Publication.<\/li>\n

*For each additional trademark registration, we charge a fixed fee of \u20ac150.<\/p>\n
To renew an expiring trademark, you need to provide us with your Trade Licence\/Commercial Registration Certificate (for corporate entities) or National Identity Card\/Passport (for physical persons); and a Power of Attorney. Each of these documents must be legalized by the Libyan Consulate in your country.<\/p>\n
We charge a fixed fee of \u20ac300 to renew an expiring Trademark. This fee covers:<\/p>\n
